Shloka of the Day

A shloka (Sanskrit: verse) is a metrical unit of Sanskrit poetry used extensively in Hindu scriptures, from the Vedas and Upanishads to the Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Puranas. The most common metre is the Anushtubh, composed of four lines of eight syllables each.
